Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce  degree from the University of Malta in 1994 and immediately joined S&D Yachts, where he played a key role in developing the company’s superyacht agency services, establishing it as Malta’s go-to provider for superyacht support.

In 1998, he set up the refit and repair division of the company, which today evolved into Yacht Projects — now offering specialised carpentry and teak decking workshops, upholstery lofts, advanced yacht paint booths, and a professional glass coating and spray-painting team. Between 1998 and 2001, he also formed part of the yacht marketing team of  Malta Drydocks, successfully attracting high-profile yacht refits to Malta.

Mark was responsible for the establishment of S&D Yachts Tunisia Ltd in 2002, today based in Bizerte, and in 2010 he launched The Yacht Shop Ltd, a leading chandlery store in the heart of Grand Harbour Marina. In 2011 Mark  obtained a Diploma in Marine Surveying  and went on to co-found Aegis Corporate Services  in 2012 with Dr. Cedric Mifsud .

Following the passing of his father and company founder Roland Darmanin Kissaun in 2014, Mark assumed the full management of the S&D Yachts Group together with his co director Peter Fiorini Lowell. In 2015, he oversaw the construction and operation of Roland Marina, a centrally located 140-berth marina accommodating yachts up to 35m LOA, and a four-time winner of the “Top Marina of the Year” award.

In 2017, Mark co-founded MMPS. Today, he oversees the administration of the S&D Yachts Group companies while driving business development initiatives at MMPS.
